We just had a brief shake here in Puerto Vallarta. It was just a quick jerk and it was over at about 12:20 this morning… probably less than 5 on the richter scale (I’ll have to look up the particulars in the morning!)
Since it just happened, I can’t say there was no damage, but it was so breif (although sharp), I really doubt there was any.
Edit 17 October 2013: It looks like the epicenter was in the mountains a few miles east of Puerto Vallarta near the town of Las Palmas. It measured 4.2 on the Richter Scale and was located about 8 km below ground. There was no reported damage.
This of course is nothing to the 7.2 earthquake that hit the Philippines yesterday… our thoughts and prayers go out to all those effected by that disaster.
